Jenni, this is completely tragic, a life without curry is incomprehensible! I would put it down to the troublesome MSG. I haven't found any food issues yet. You'll have to send your other half on a curry cookery course! Sara x

For me it's Chinese takeaway- as Sara says, probably the msg. Also- lots of sweets don't agree with me anymore. I'm ok with chocolate but not lots of sugary sweets.

For me it's cheese :-(. I've always been lactose intolerant so can't manage cream/milk/ice-cream but I've managed to get away with cheese. I've really missed it but my joints tell me about it within hours of eating. What about curry paste and BBC website recipes as a (hopeful) solution? Vicky xx

I haven't eaten chocolate for 20 years because of migraine. Now I can't stand the smell of it.

Hello
I dont know what happens to one's digestive system - I know I'm an old lady (74) but use to be able to eat ANYTHING but now some foods can have funny effects; such as frozen Shepherds Pie followed by chocolate mousse which at one time presented no problems atall. Is it because sopmething vchanges within our bodies metabolism necause we have developed arthritis? It is really weird - I went to a friend's and she gave me a big portion of hotpot followed by apple crumble and I had no ill effects whatsoever. So whats going on? HELP!

Hi it is cheese for me as well.
Used to love cheese but now have to be very careful; I cannot eat any of the english hard cheeses at all.
As for spices - I am afraid I am one of those people who cannot tolerate indian foods as even the mildest of sauces and spices reacts - always been the same.
I love italian, moroccan, turkish, greek anything like that; some chinese reacts as well but I think that is due to the salt content.
